Ryuji Imaichi: Nihon Gaishi Hall 9/9/2018 Concert Report [日本ガイシホールコンサートレポ]

NAGOYA NIHON GAISHI HALL 9/9/2018 CONCERT REPORT: SPOILERS INCLUDED

There were so many people in the area trying to get all sorts of things like capsule goods and food, I got really socially anxious because there was so many people and I was trying to find Mika. She kept messaging me, and I finally found her because she recognized my face. It was so nice getting to see someone who had read my blog and even commented about it on instagram. We talked for a bit about everything in the line for the bathroom, but I was happy to know there are people who like him just as much as I do!

When I went into the venue it had a similar vibe as the Saitama arena but smaller, I was still on the right hand side of the venue. I was so anxious waiting for it to start, when the lights finally dimmed I started jumping up and down in excitement. I couldn’t contain my energy and I couldn’t believe I was going to see him live.

The intro was every bit as cool as when I heard it for the first time, the projection was sort of distorted but everything was better once they cleared the backstage and Ryuji came to the front. He was wearing a white suit that had half of his shoulder showing, and Catch my light was every bit as catchy as always. His dancing in it was so fluid and seemed really fun, I loved it all. I just couldn’t really believe anything happening and remained that way throughout the concert. He moved through the first half of songs pretty quickly, I was impressed at how steady and beautiful his voice was despite all the dancing. 

The second song was Love Thief, then Throwback, and then Angel. 

After Angel there was a slight intermission and Diamond Dance came on. He took off the sunglasses for Diamond Dance, and when I saw his beautiful bright smile me and the person next to me grabbed hands and started screaming because he was so dazzling and cool. Ryuji looks the best without sunglasses because I can see his face and he kept smiling so much. His eyebrows move a lot when he’s singing, it’s such a quirk that is unique to him. She kept saying he was cool and I just kept laughing in complete agreement. It’s so funny how our fangirl emotions overcame the barrier of us being complete strangers. It was amazing and amusing and wonderful. 

After Diamond Dance, the songs became slower. First One Day, then some cover songs. Beneath these sheets, Broken Heart by Eric Benet, and Rainy Blue. I’m so happy to have heard Rainy Blue, because I listened and watched the Youtube video of him singing it so many times. After Rainy Blue was another interlude and it moved to the second half. Everyone turned their lights red and the video clip for Alter Ego came on, a black bird replacing the previous white eagle. He was wearing a black robe for Alter Ego and just a white button shirt that was open for the first half. His ab muscles when he danced for diamond dance was amazing!

He had a piano placed out and the piano melody for the new song was so beautiful, 夜明け前(Yoake mae) gave me goosebumps. He hand wrote the lyrics on the screen as well, it really moved me and inspired me to keep staying strong. This is the reason I love him the most, because he gives me positivity and endless strength, hope for the future. He adds SO MUCH to my life. I will follow him forever to my grave. 

And after Alter Ego he took off the robe to reveal a black slick jacket and pants outfit similar to the one in the music video. Out of the Darkness was super as usual too. For the second half he had a hands free mic and I was surprised again at the quality of his singing there.

After Out of Darkness was Trick World, he was wearing a black tank which he ripped off to reveal his beautiful body HOW IS IT SO BEAUTIFUL SO EROTIC OHMAHGAH and then he started to dance for the song. 

After that was SANDAIME TIME! He sang a bunch of songs, the first one was Let’s Party, then ORION, Summer Madness, RYUSEI, and Bright. 

But the best part of it all was the end when he sang ALL LOVE, when he said he was going to sing it my heart just had a sudden pang, that was one song I had always wanted to hear him sing. The person next to me and I myself started tearing up, it’s just a song that shows you how much of a good person he is and lifts you up!

電車の中ではしゃいでました！たくさんの人たちが隆二くんのグッズを着てたり、付けてたりしていたから、こんなにも愛されているんだなんて思うとうれしい限りでした。

この間ブログを読んでくださったみかさんと出会いました！とても素敵で隆二くんをいっぱい応援していた方で、本当に会ってたのは光栄でした。日本ガイシホールはちょっと小さい方でしたけど、それで隆二くんがより近く感じていてまた良かった。今回が初めてだったのであまり感想をどこから言えばいいのかわからないけど、取りあえず言えるのはとても幸せな時間でした！隆二くんの生歌を聴いたときに、ああやっぱり耳が癒されると思いました。そして改めて隆二くんの歌の上手さを深く感じましたし、それからライブの世界観もすばらしかった。光はいつでも闇を超える。その歌声とその歌詞を聞くと、明日も精一杯頑張れる！皆さんも是非時間があればライブに行ってください！絶対楽しめますから！

After hearing this song, I knew why Odake-san (Masato Odake, lyricist) said “Ryuji is a guy who takes the little things in life and gratefully accepts it as happiness.”

[Eng Trans] Sandaime JSB Ryuji Imaichi’s New Solo Song “Angel” MV Release Reactions: “Another amazing song,” “Felt Like I Watched A Movie”

Released on the 19th, Sandaime J Soul Brothers member Ryuji Imaichi’s solo project MV for “Angel” ranked in the trending videos on Youtube. 

The long anticipated second single in the project is  Imaichi’s first time participating in both the composition and song-writing of the funky tune, collaborating with T.Kura, who wrote Sandaime JSB’s hit song, and TAKANORI (LL BROTHERS), who wrote the lyrics for it.

The MV released for “Angel” was made with a storyline, in which Imaichi is caught up in an intense gun shooting scene along with other scenes, an MV with a lot to take in has been created. The comments include things like, “It is a completely different feel from before, and it’s also good,” “I feel like I watched an entire movie,” “Another amazing* song!” “This is a splendid short film,” “If you understand the story and watch, it’s amazing,” so, as you can see, there was much high praise for both the MV and the song.

 

Imaichi released “ONE DAY” in January, and is in the middle of a three month consecutive release plan. This time around, “Angel” was released on the 16th, and “Thank You” is set to release in March. The release date and details for “Thank You” have not been announced, but we hope to hear about it hereafter soon.

*T/N – the comment originally used the phrase “Kami-kyoku” which literally translates to “God song,” and is commonly used to mean a song that is truly phenomenal.

Hello, Rina here! Just wanted to share my reaction the Angel MV, it’s basically a reaction video in journal form and with only Ryuji pictures. I personally love the song so much, it kind of has a Bruno Mars feel, very catchy. The best part is obviously his sultry voice (sultry, not slutty) and the little adlibs he does at the end. Enjoy my reactions, hope you can leave yours in the comments below!

This time around, Ryuji participated in both composing and writing lyrics for this song, and is a piece that was started three years ago. Congratulations on his first work!

According to the Youtube comments, and based off of some stalking I did on instagram, the story is about two gangs. The House of Snakes gang killed Ryuji’s lover, Kira, and Ryuji’s gang, the House of Roses, is shown to be taking revenge. In the end, Ryuji dies in the gang fight and the two lovers become angels, inseparable in heaven.

Ryuji’s favorite flower is the rose, it really tells you about his personality: honest and straightforwardly loving

I don’t know why, but I LOVE this part. Ryuji just being a boss and telling his gang members (The Dancing Dolls) to stop dancing, it’s so hilarious and amusing yet hot at the same time. I honestly think this is the highlight of the MV

Random rant, but I really want to know why that lady boss in the music video has a unibrow. She looks very pretty in her instagram, why they gotta go and draw that unibrow so she looks like Frida Kahlo? It just bugs me lol
